CNC Programmer

Description: The CNC Programmer/Layout position is responsible for programming machinery, creating flat blank layouts from customer files, and troubleshooting issues with manufacturing. The programmer will use CAD, Solidworks, and other programming and design software.

Shift: 1st


  • Excellent math skills, including advanced geometry.
  • Familiarity with CAD and other 3D mechanical design software.
  • Mathematical computing and analysis tools (Excel, etc.).

  • Advanced problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Great interpersonal skills and teamwork abilities.

  • Self-motivated and self-starter.

  • Great project management capabilities; adherence to schedules, deadlines, etc.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, fabrication methods and tool design.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing equipment and quality assurance techniques.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing, preferably sheet metal fabrication.
  • Experience with programming CNC machines, preferably turrets.
  • Education/experience with SolidWorks.
  • Able to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Able to write standard documentation.
  • Able to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Must have the ability to read and understand manuals, routings, and other manufacturing instructions.
  • The physical demands include talking, listening, and specific vision abilities required for close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
