Quality Technician

1. Interpret detailed blueprints, work orders, engineering specifications, and routing sheets to determine production processes and tolerance limits.
2. Troubleshoot print and routing problems.
3. Perform inspection on first piece, in process, and finished products, ensuring conformance to specifications.
4. Guide operators on troubleshooting processes when product produced is non-conforming or close to the limits.
5. Isolate and disposition non-conforming product.
6. Complete all required records and paperwork to include inspection reports, return reports, and re-work orders.
7. Ensure finished product is packaged and loaded correctly to minimize possible damage during transportation.
8. Analyze inspection results and assist in addressing and resolving production problems causing deviations from existing standards and specifications.
9. Communicate with supervisors on noted deviations of tolerances.
10. Recommend modifications of existing quality or production processes to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.
11. Make recommendations regarding safe working methods.
12. Follow all clean-up and housekeeping procedures.
13. Comply with all safety regulations.

Education and/or Preferred Experience
Requires a high school diploma or GED and three years of related manufacturing experience; or five years of progressively responsible related experience; or a combination of education and experience. Knowledge of brake press operation, tools, and creating or editing programs. Requires additional in-house training on special areas as appropriate.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents such as blueprints, routings, work orders, engineering specifications and safety regulations. Ability to write routine reports and documentation. Ability to effectively present information to customers and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as dimensions, tolerances, proportions, and percentages.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Other Qualifications
Requires the ability to operate various tools and equipment to include micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, paint film gauge, squares, measuring tape, profile gauge, and various other precision measuring devices.
